Vacancies
We currently have the following vacancies in the firm:
Fordham Research is a friendly London based consultancy that works for the public sector (mainly Local Authorities) undertaking contracts in the fields of housing and planning. Since 1986, it has worked for two thirds of all the councils (around 400) in Britain, and at any one time is carrying out contracts for at least 50 of them. It is the leading firm in its main fields: Housing Market Assessments, Housing Needs Analysis, Private Sector Stock Condition Surveys, Planning Gain and Viability.
Freelance Surveyors (ongoing)
In the same way that housing needs surveys depend on good quality data collection, we depend on our surveyor teams to produce good quality stock condition and (on joint surveys) housing needs data. To that end an intensive and continuing training process is operated. We are the only firm in the condition field that runs such courses. This is evidence of our desire to achieve a high quality result.
Recruitment normally consists of running advertisements in national professional publications (Building, Construction News, Careers in Construction and Opportunities) but good responses have been secured from purely local press when seeking to recruit for a specific contract. Many of the surveyors recruited locally have remained with us beyond the contract for which they were recruited, as valuable members of the team.
All surveyors are taken through a comprehensive training programme which is run either in London or close to the council area for specific contracts. Trainees receive a small allowance for this, payable after completion of a number of surveys.
If you have a good knowledge of building, an ability to relate positively to new people, and a desire to be paid well for turning in a good day's work, why not email your CV to Graham Field (Research Manager), or call Graham on 020 7289 3988 for an informal chat about what the work and training entails, or to discuss contract availability.
